Gas heater servicing and repairs
Have your gas heater checked and serviced by a licensed gas fitter in line with the manufacturer’s instructions. A service can assess the heater’s operation, ventilation and flue, and identify faults that may need attention.
If your heater is blowing cold air or won’t turn on, don’t dismantle or attempt to repair it yourself. Check the manufacturer’s instructions and contact us if the problem continues.
Carbon monoxide safety
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a dangerous gas with no smell or colour. A faulty gas appliance may produce carbon monoxide.
If anyone feels unwell while a gas appliance is operating—including headache, dizziness, nausea, weakness, confusion or unusual drowsiness—move everyone outside into fresh air and seek urgent medical help. Do not use the appliance again until it has been checked by a licensed gas fitter.
Smell gas?
If you smell gas inside, leave the property immediately. Open doors and windows and extinguish open flames as you leave. Do not use electrical switches, appliances, a phone, a torch or an open flame inside.
Once outside, turn off the gas and electricity at the outdoor meters if it is safe to do so. For a leak inside your property, call a licensed gas fitter. Do not re-enter until the property has been checked.
